Sunday School

Sunday School

Our Sunday School classes meet every Sunday morning at 9:45 am. We have classes available for people of all ages. Donuts and coffee are available in the fellowship hall at the start of the Sunday school, hour. Our current Sunday School classes include:

  • Pastors Class: This class meets in the Sunday school room off of the fellowship hall and is working through Bonhoeffer’s The Cost of Discipleship.
  • Women's Class: This class meets in the parlour and uses the wired word curriculum which uses scripture to shed light on the week's current events.
  • Early Birds: This class meets a little early to allow it's participants to attend choir practice. They meet upstairs in the classroom accross from the nursery and are working through Hanna Reichel's For Such A Time As This: An Emergency Devotional.
  • Youth Class: Meets in the youth room on the ground floor and is currently working their way through Gomes' The Good Book.
  • Elementary Class: Meets in the fellowship hall at the start of the Sunday School hour and then moves to various classrooms for a time of song and activities.  This class is currently working through the lectionary with crafts and age appropriate activities.

Our youth program provides our young people with lock-ins, interactive Bible studies, opportunities to lead worship, summer trips to Montreat and mission involvement.  Our church is blessed to have such an awesome and active group of youth!  If you are in high school or middle school and are interested in becoming a part of our youth group, please contact Joel to learn more.

MISSIONS

MISSIONS

"Missions" refers to the work of God’s people beyond the community of faith—working to show Christ’s love, peace, and justice in the world.

Through its Missions Committee, First Presbyterian Church educates the congregation about national, international, Synod, Presbytery, local missions and provides opportunities for God’s people to serve with these missions.
